Ambush is complete. What went right, wrong, and everything in between.

Ambush is my first ever finally released game. While simple, I'm quite proud of it. The game is asteroids-like, but with extra features.

What went well?

Development went(almost) perfectly. Each feature served to compliment one another.

What could've been improved?

The game left a lot to be desired. If I were to make a sequel, I would definitely give the player at least finite movement within the screen, and the ability to maneuver out of the way of bullets. I attempted it in Ambush but I would've had to completely rewrite the enemy AI to follow. Another thing I would add is a more visually obvious upgrade system.

What's next?

I have a few ideas for my next game. The first would be a portal-like puzzle game. I had the ability to manipulate gravity in mind, another would be a 2D galaxy conquest game, where you mine asteroids and build your own ships. I've given quite a lot of thought to this one. The third would be a game where the player has to restore a damaged planet which has been ruined by pollution ect. The game would entail building structures, cleaning up junk, and bringing back extinct species.

Thanks to the 12 who downloaded and played the game. Not insane numbers, but I'm glad that at least someone other than me played the game. I look forward to what the future entails.

Thanks for reading,

-Matt.
